About Me (Kiva Bostrom)

I began my web dev career in the 90’s. I took a PCC class on Microsoft Frontpage, a cruel and unusual platform that required a Frontpage host to service web pages. In those days, we used html tables to arrange content, and framesets.

Joseph DeVore, a good friend and colleague of mine, gave me a big box of books on Coldfusion, JavaScript, Apache, and more. In those days, Stackoverflow and Google were not how devs solved problems. A few years later, CSS was becoming more widely supported by browsers, and I began to push out more modern web applications. I spent a long time learning Flash, before it was destroyed by Apple, and eventually Coldfusion was destroyed by Adobe. Google became the ruler of the internet, and Facebook replaced MySpace. Ahh what a time.

In roughly 2007, I began learning PHP as a backup to my Coldfusion skills. My first WordPress site was roughly 2008?

Since then, I have worked with hundreds of web apps and sites for both my own clients, and full time positions. I have provided contract work for at least 4 agencies, and some of my legacy code from this era still drives the backend of web applications.

My skills range from Apache to JavaScript, and everything in between. My specialties are custom WordPress Plugins, and enterprise level integrations with platforms like Salesforce and Zendesk.

I am currently working a full time position for Matthews International.
